Browse our productsHekpoort Hills was inspired by a want to spend time with the family outside of the white noise of the busy suburbs of Johannesburg. There was a desire to establish our own miniature ecosystem which would provide some quiet time after the busy hustle of the weekdays.
Although the term ‘lifestyle farm’ is often bandied about, it normally refers to an opulent weekend getaway … while in reality this lifestyle ‘stoep’ (less than a hectare) simply devours hard work and sweat for very small increments of progress.
But in return for heaps of fun and sunshine.
While lavender, rosemary, tea tree, rose geranium, and pine are grown and distilled on the farm in boutique quantities, the cedarwood is sourced elsewhere for local distillation.
We also have 5 beehives which produce in excess of 50 litres of honey annually but, given the voracious appetite of our extended friend and families, we don’t seem able to offer this commercially.
While we do not carry an organic label, we do follow organic farming practices and do not use pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers.
Our Personal and Hair Care products are all formulated around essential oils rather than synthetic fragrances. Although this is an expensive approach, it has so many benefits, not least of which is an authentic fragrance.
All our products have an excellent Eco-tox footprint, using ‘non-labelled’ ingredients.
Where possible we also try to offer an improvement on your everyday generic products, such as silicon, SLES or sulphate free.
